Turn down the noise of an overly busy life with a soothing restorative yoga practice. In this workshop, you will gradually unwind habitual tension and experience the remarkably healing benefits of true relaxation.
To begin, Michael will present the latest conversations about the parasympathetic nervous system as seen through both the yogic and western scientific lenses. Then, you'll flow through a series of gently-paced mindful movements to explore ways you can weave relaxation into your active workouts. Finally, you'll dive deeply into several well-supported restorative yoga postures coming to understand that true rest is an essential building block to a balanced life. Shift your focus toward self-care, slow down and let yourself enjoy a few long exhales.
All workshops have a 72-hour cancellation policy. No credit or refunds will be given for no shows or to cancellations made within 72 hours of the workshop.
Michael Simpson is a yoga teacher and aspiring writer but primarily considers himself a lifelong student. Michael studied Anatomy and Physiology at Penn State University and is now an E-RYT 200-hour yoga teacher and regular faculty member of local teacher trainings. He is known for his ability to articulate complex anatomical principles into easily-digested offerings. Michael received his first 200-hour certification in 2013 under the guidance of Heather Sheridan and Julie Gurevich. Since then, Michael has been lucky enough to study with modern-day yoga masters like Jason Crandell, Carrie Parker, Stacey Bell, and Jillian Pransky. In each class, Michael seamlessly weaves together precise anatomy, meditation techniques and storytelling into a powerful yoga experience.
